when harsh winds blow
and I stand exposed
with no hope of my own,
battered and bruised:
wrestling an angry sky,
clinging to barren rock,
bound by sedimentary days
then – probe deep
let questions fuel
furious chiseling through,
let desperate seeking
leech Presence
from silence
oh, little tree
swallowed by rock too grand,
sky too violent,
hang on with clenched claws,
fall into this pushing down
and find
when all hope is gone
what you can’t see
is so much more than what you can

Powerful. Thanks for sharing.
A visit from you always makes me smile! Thank you.
Love the colors and the words that flow here Colleen.
Tony, your persistent encouragement means the world to me!
Strong and moving painting and poem, my dear Colleen.
Wishing you a beautiful new week ahead. 🙂
It’s been so fun to read about your musical journey lately! You are so multi-talented, Marina, bringing joy and beauty to the world in multiple ways!
Ah, thank you, my dear Colleen! Likewise, my kind friend and that you bring joy and beauty to our hearts, you already know! 🙂
Powerful and beautiful…thank you.
May God give you new strength as we share an understanding of certain struggles.
Hi Colleen, once again ‘you’ve nailed it’ being able to articulate all the rest of us don’t know how to put into words! Lisa Lee
Lisa, your courage gives me courage! You are amazing.
Great poem! So often life and faith is like that…clinging on to what we know in our heart of hearts even through suffering.
Teresa, I loved your last post about the dance. The imagery plays often in my mind and gives me strength. The dance you described is what gives us the strength to cling, isn’t it? You are a blessing!
