Trading Our Sorrow For Joy

Trading Our Sorrow For Joy; 2026; 16.5″ x 20.5″; mixed media: watercolor, acrylic, alcohol inks, India inks, chalk.

This weekend I asked a two year old, “What do you think this painting is about?” She replied without hesitation, “Jesus.” And with that, after nine months of working on it, it’s finished. I hope it tells the story to others of Jesus dancing with us, able to transform our sorrow into joy simply by His Presence with us.

For the inspiration behind this painting, you can read: The Hero I Met.

Meanwhile, I released in Jan the first of ten monthly installments of artwork with prayer prompts. And I’ll release the second installment on the last Friday of this month. Subscribe if you are interested in receiving them! Fragments of Light artist/author newsletter.
