Immortal Seeds series (studies in progress); 2021; 8″ x 8″; watercolor, acrylic, ink.

What if the physical human body is but a seed for the eternal? What if our visceral beings germinate in the soil of life on earth like a dry, brown husk, only a shadow of what we will become? What if, as we wither and atrophy, a spark of indestructible life burns, intended to live forever? What if death is not an ending, but a passage, a pressing out into a sky wider and higher than we ever imagined possible? What if, like a flower, we were to emerge into eternity, embodying beauty unimaginable in our previous state?
