Dear friends,
Writing a novel is an interesting journey. There’s the writing, and then there’s an entirely different process of building “platform.” I’m definitely much more interested in the first. Nevertheless, my process of signing with an agent a few yeas ago felt like a miraculous open door, and I want to faithfully proceed until the Lord says “stop.” If this is the end of the road, so be it… But, my agent plans to present my manuscript, “Flight of the Kambu,” to potential editors later this month. At this point, however, a major deterrent is my low number of author newsletter subscribers. Apparently, 1000 is the acceptable thresh hold, and I currently have 350 subscribers (although I greatly value each and every one!) If you’re willing to help by signing up for my newsletter, I thank you with all my heart!
Meanwhile, here’s a glimpse of the story…
Flight of the Kambu
Talia first sighted the Kambu dancing in the sky above the Kenyan savannah not long after a series of traumatic childhood experiences. The bird’s brilliant, myriad colors unified in flight seem to call her to the wholeness she yearns for but doesn’t know how to find. Meanwhile, she’ll do anything to rescue others, whether friends in her new town of Pine Springs, Colorado or orphans in Nairobi, Kenya. But then a relationship crisis in the US exposes her inability to save anyone, much less herself. Soon after, on a trip to Kenya, a life-threatening situation erupts. Will anyone come to her rescue? And even if they did, will she let them?
