It was a gorgeous, glowing afternoon in early fall. We started at the bottom of a canyon and chased the light up a mountain. When I photograph, I chase golden rays of sinking sun, but I also seek the light inside a soul.
Jordan is the first stranger I’ve photographed. When I met her just before her session, I wanted to capture something more than just a pretty portrait for her senior yearbook. I hoped to probe inside her joy, what makes her laugh, and create an enduring memory of those fragments of light.

wonderfully taken…portraits are not easy to take.
Thank you so much for visiting! I love portraits most of all. I always feel fear when I begin that I won’t succeed, but when I press on and find the flow of enjoying the person I am with, it is pure joy.
It is a nice exploration and yes initial inhibition is sometime good for a great take…yes portraits are different.
